Coritiba Foot Ball Club formed a successful partnership in 2011 and expanded its activities into another sports modality: American Football. The Alviverde team Coritiba Crocodiles is always among the Brazilian elite in the modality, having disputed the final of the Brazilian American Football League for two years running.
“The partnership has been great from the outset. We received a very good proposal from Coritiba fans, with words of support and encouragement”, affirms Gerard Kaghtazian Junior, team president.
The synergy between the champion teams was so strong that the Coritiba Crocodiles captured the hearts of the Coxa fans. The 2011 Brazilian American Football League final, played out in Couto Pereira stadium, drew a record public in the history of the sport in Brazil. Around 8,000 people cheered on the Crocodiles and went wild at each yard conquered by the team.
